"I've tried everything and nothing sticks."
If diets, programs, and sheer willpower haven't worked, there may be a medical reason. We start by finding out why — and building a plan that actually addresses it.

If you've tried everything — diets, programs, willpower — and still can't get sustainable results, it may not be about effort. It may be about biology. Myriad Healthcare offers medically supervised weight loss that starts with understanding your body, not judging it.
Membership required: Our medical weight loss program is available to active Myriad Healthcare DPC members. Your flat monthly membership covers all provider visits, monitoring, and clinical support. Medications are prescribed separately and billed at cost. Not yet a member? Learn about DPC membership → or schedule a discovery call to get started.
Medical weight loss is supervised weight management that goes beyond calorie counting and willpower. It starts with a thorough evaluation of your health — labs, hormones, metabolic function, medical history, and lifestyle — to understand why your body holds onto weight and what will actually help it release it.
At Myriad Healthcare, your weight loss journey is led by Melissa Allen, APRN, FNP-BC — a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner who knows your full health picture as your primary care provider. That matters, because weight is rarely just about food. It's about hormones, sleep, stress, inflammation, gut health, and genetics.
We don't offer cookie-cutter programs. We offer a real clinical relationship — the kind that adapts as your body changes, addresses barriers honestly, and celebrates progress that isn't always reflected on a scale.
In a traditional practice, weight loss visits are rushed and infrequent. As your DPC provider, Melissa is accessible between visits — meaning you can ask questions, report changes, and get guidance when it matters most, not just at your next scheduled appointment.
We begin with comprehensive labs to assess thyroid function, blood sugar, hormones, inflammation markers, and metabolic health — the full picture, not just your weight.
Hormonal imbalances, insulin resistance, menopause, low testosterone, thyroid dysfunction — we identify and treat the underlying factors driving weight gain.
Oral medications, injectable therapies, and lifestyle interventions — used together or separately based on what's right for your body, health history, and goals.
Real, practical nutritional counseling alongside your medical treatment — not a rigid meal plan, but sustainable habits that work with your life.
Your plan evolves as you do. Regular check-ins, lab monitoring, and medication adjustments ensure you're progressing safely and effectively.
Our program meets people wherever they are — whether you're just beginning your journey or have been struggling for years.
If diets, programs, and sheer willpower haven't worked, there may be a medical reason. We start by finding out why — and building a plan that actually addresses it.
Hormonal shifts during perimenopause and menopause fundamentally change how your body processes and stores fat. We address this directly with hormone management and targeted treatment.
Testosterone deficiency, thyroid issues, and metabolic slowdown all contribute to weight gain and difficulty losing weight — regardless of your effort level.
You're motivated and want a real plan — not another app or generic program. You want a provider who knows your health, monitors your progress, and adjusts when needed.
Pre-diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol, sleep apnea — losing even a modest amount of weight can dramatically improve these conditions. We treat the whole picture.
Injectable therapies have shown remarkable clinical results for appropriate candidates. We evaluate whether these options are right for you based on your health history, labs, and goals.
Every weight loss journey at Myriad starts with understanding your unique biology and ends with sustainable results. Here's what to expect.
Full health history review, labs, metabolic assessment, and an honest conversation about your history with weight — what's worked, what hasn't, and why.
Based on your evaluation, we build a plan that may include medication, nutrition guidance, lifestyle modifications, and hormone balancing as appropriate.
Regular follow-up visits, lab monitoring, medication adjustments, and direct access to Melissa between appointments — so you're never navigating this alone.
We don't just help you lose weight — we help you keep it off. Your plan transitions to long-term maintenance with ongoing primary care support.
FDA-approved oral medications that work through various mechanisms — appetite regulation, metabolic support, or blood sugar management. Prescribed based on your health profile and goals. Well tolerated by many patients and an effective first-line option.
Injectable medications have demonstrated clinically significant weight loss results in appropriate candidates. These work by supporting satiety, regulating appetite signals, and improving metabolic function. Candidacy is evaluated individually based on your labs, medical history, and health goals.
Medical treatment works best alongside sustainable behavioral change. We provide practical nutritional guidance, meal planning support, and lifestyle coaching — no extreme diets, no unrealistic expectations. Just real, evidence-based guidance that fits your life.
One of the most underappreciated drivers of weight gain — and difficulty losing weight — is hormonal imbalance. This is especially true for women in perimenopause and menopause, and for men with declining testosterone levels. The body's hormonal changes don't just affect mood and energy — they fundamentally alter how fat is stored and burned.
The good news: when we identify and treat hormonal imbalances, weight loss becomes significantly more achievable — and sustainable. Addressing hormones isn't a shortcut. It's restoring your body to the conditions where it can function the way it's designed to.
At Myriad, hormone evaluation is part of our standard weight loss workup — not an afterthought. We look at the full picture before building your plan.
Declining estrogen shifts fat storage to the abdomen, slows metabolism, disrupts sleep, and increases insulin resistance — all of which make weight gain easier and weight loss harder. Hormone replacement therapy alongside a medical weight loss plan can address these changes directly.
Low testosterone in both men and women leads to reduced muscle mass, increased fat storage, fatigue, and a slower metabolism. Addressing testosterone levels as part of your weight loss plan can dramatically improve results and overall energy and wellbeing.
An underactive thyroid slows virtually every metabolic process in the body — making it nearly impossible to lose weight without treatment. We screen for thyroid dysfunction as part of your initial evaluation and manage it alongside your weight loss goals.
Insulin resistance — common in pre-diabetes and metabolic syndrome — makes the body store fat more efficiently and burn it less effectively. Medical weight loss interventions can directly improve insulin sensitivity and break this cycle.
Your DPC membership covers all of the clinical support for your weight loss program. Medication costs are separate and billed at cost.
Comprehensive health history, physical exam, and lab panel to assess metabolic health, hormones, and overall baseline — all covered under your DPC membership.
A customized plan built around your biology, health history, lifestyle, and goals — not a template. Includes medication selection, nutritional guidance, and monitoring schedule.
Regular check-in appointments to monitor progress, adjust medications, review labs, and address any concerns — all included in your membership.
Labs to monitor your progress and safety throughout treatment — including metabolic panels, hormone levels, and any medication-specific monitoring required.
Practical, sustainable nutritional counseling and behavioral support — integrated into your care rather than referred out. Real guidance from your provider who knows your full picture.

Honest answers to the questions we hear most often.
Yes. Our medical weight loss program is offered as part of Myriad Healthcare's Direct Primary Care model, which requires an active DPC membership. This is because safe, effective medical weight loss requires an ongoing clinical relationship — regular monitoring, lab work, medication adjustments, and direct provider access. The DPC model is what makes all of that possible at a flat monthly rate.
If you're not yet a member, the first step is a discovery call to learn if Myriad is the right fit.
Medication costs vary depending on what is prescribed, the dosage, and your pharmacy. We do not mark up medications — you pay the actual cost of the medication. We will always discuss pricing with you before any prescription is written so there are no surprises.
Some medications may be available at reduced cost through pharmacy networks we work with. We are committed to helping you find the most affordable option that meets your clinical needs.
Candidacy for injectable weight loss therapy is determined on an individual basis based on your health history, labs, BMI, existing conditions, and medications. Not everyone is a candidate, and we take this evaluation seriously. We will never prescribe something that isn't clinically appropriate for you.
The best way to find out is to schedule a discovery call and then a new patient consultation where we can review your complete picture.
Yes — absolutely. Hormone evaluation is a standard part of our weight loss workup. Thyroid function, estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, cortisol, and insulin levels all play a significant role in weight management. If hormonal imbalances are contributing to your weight challenges, we address them as part of your overall treatment plan — not as a separate program.
Medical weight loss is a long-term endeavor, not a 30-day sprint. Most patients see meaningful results within 3–6 months of consistent treatment. The timeline depends on your starting point, your goals, how your body responds, and how closely you're able to follow the plan. We set realistic expectations from the start and celebrate every step of progress.
We hear this often — and it's a completely valid concern. Different medications work through very different mechanisms, and what didn't work before may not be what we'd recommend now. We always start with a thorough evaluation before prescribing anything, and we take your history with previous treatments seriously when building your plan. There is no one-size-fits-all answer in weight loss medicine.
Coverage for weight loss medications varies widely by insurance plan and is often limited or excluded. Because Myriad Healthcare is a DPC practice, we do not bill insurance for your clinical visits — those are covered by your membership. For medications, we can provide a prescription that you may be able to submit to your insurance, or we can help you find the most affordable cash-pay option. We'll always discuss this with you upfront.
The first step is a discovery call — a no-pressure conversation about your history, your goals, and whether Myriad is the right fit. If it is, we'll get you started with a new patient consultation that includes a full evaluation and your personalized plan.
You've tried doing it alone. Let's try doing it with a provider who's actually in your corner.
